Danish esports powerhouse BLAST has opened a New York City office, marking its major expansion into North America. The new hub will support upcoming tournaments like the BLAST.tv Austin Major and collaborations with U.S.-based brands and content creators.
Danish esports tournament organiser BLAST is making a bold move into the North American market with the launch of a new office in New York City. This development marks a pivotal step in the company’s global growth strategy for 2025, further cementing its presence in one of the world’s most influential esports markets.
The New York City office will serve as BLAST’s North American headquarters, enabling the company to coordinate its operations across the continent better. It will function as a strategic hub for delivering more tier-one esports events, building partnerships with U.S.-based brands, and collaborating with local content creators to develop original content and live appearances.

BLAST has confirmed that it will host five major events in North America in 2025, with highlights including the BLAST.tv Austin Major in Texas, a Counter-Strike 2 Major, and the Fortnite Champion Series Pro-Am in Los Angeles. Additionally, the Rocket League Championship Series Raleigh Major will contribute to a busy schedule that positions the U.S. as the global leader in tier-one esports arena events this year.
Leo Matlock, BLAST’s Chief Business Officer, will relocate from Copenhagen to lead the New York office. His responsibilities will include scaling the North American team, strengthening relationships with partners such as Epic Games, Valve, and Activision Blizzard, and driving BLAST’s broader business development strategy in the region.
“We’ve been deeply committed to the growth of esports in the U.S. for six years, hosting some of our most iconic live events here since 2019,” said Matlock. “Establishing a permanent hub here is a natural next step and a powerful indicator of our long-term investment in the market.”
This North American expansion comes on the heels of another major international move for BLAST: the opening of an office in Mumbai, India, through a partnership with Reliance-backed sports and entertainment company RISE. The India office will primarily focus on mobile gaming and serve as a base for regional content production and events.

Founded in Denmark in 2016, BLAST has rapidly grown into one of the leading esports event organisers globally, known for flagship tournaments like the BLAST Premier (Counter-Strike 2), BLAST Slam (Dota 2), and partnerships with the Rocket League Championship Series and Fortnite’s FNCS.
In total, BLAST plans to host 15 international LAN events in 2025, making it one of the busiest and most influential tournament organisers in the industry.
With permanent offices now in Copenhagen, London, Berlin, Mumbai, and New York City, BLAST is strategically positioning itself to dominate the global esports landscape. This latest expansion underscores the company’s commitment to localised operations, audience engagement, and long-term growth in key markets.
