Lenovo Legion is the official gaming hardware partner of the 2025 Esports World Cup, equipping players with high-performance PCs and laptops. Discover what this partnership means for the $70M tournament.
With the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC) just days away, the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced that Lenovo, through its Legion brand, will serve as the official PC and gaming hardware partner for the global event. This partnership will see Lenovo providing top-of-the-line gaming towers, laptops, and peripherals for all competing players, setting a new benchmark for competitive hardware performance on the world stage.
As part of the agreement, Lenovo will supply Legion Tower 7i systems featuring NVIDIA RTX 5080 GPUs and Legion Tower 5i systems with RTX 5070 GPUs. Players will also have access to Legion Pro 7i laptops, outfitted with NVIDIA’s cutting-edge RTX 5090 graphics cards, ensuring elite-level speed, performance, and visual fidelity throughout the tournament.
Though the financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed, the collaboration is set to make a substantial impact on both the tournament and its participants. Lenovo Legion branding will feature prominently across EWC’s global broadcast, digital platforms, and on-site experiences, including fully equipped festival zones where fans can get hands-on with Lenovo’s gaming gear.

Speaking about the partnership, Mohammed Al Nimer, Chief Commercial Officer of the Esports World Cup Foundation, stated:
“We’re building the Esports World Cup to set a new global standard in both competition and the technology behind it. Lenovo’s Legion brand understands what elite players need: speed, efficiency, and reliability under pressure. These machines deliver the competitive edge required on the world’s biggest stage.”
In aligning with Lenovo, the EWCF continues to round out its list of global partners just ahead of the event. Other confirmed sponsors include Saudi Telecom Company (stc Group), Amazon Ads, Barn’s Coffee, OBSBOT, Sony, Jameel Motorsport, and Aramco, which recently renewed its partnership with EWC for another three years.
The 2025 Esports World Cup is shaping up to be one of the largest and most ambitious esports festivals in history. The event will feature 25 tournaments across multiple titles and offer a staggering $70 million (~£50.97 million) in combined prize money. Adding further star power to the event, football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been appointed as the Global Ambassador.
Despite its growing prestige and global scope, the Esports World Cup has also faced criticism. The tournament is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), prompting concerns within the esports community regarding “esports washing,” a term used to describe attempts to improve a country’s global image through high-profile gaming and entertainment investments.
Nonetheless, with Lenovo’s high-performance hardware powering the gameplay and a record-breaking prize pool on the line, the 2025 Esports World Cup is poised to deliver a spectacle like no other, blending elite competition with cutting-edge technology for fans and players worldwide.
