Rocket League kicks off its 2025 Monthly Cash Cups in partnership with Start.gg, offering players worldwide a shot at over $390,000 in prizes across multiple game modes and regions. Here’s everything you need to know.
Rocket League is elevating its competitive scene in 2025 with the launch of the Monthly Cash Cups, a global tournament series featuring a total prize pool of over $390,000 (~£294,514). This new initiative, developed in collaboration with tournament platform Start.gg, runs from April through December 2025 and is open to players of all skill levels.
The Monthly Cash Cups are structured to be as inclusive as possible. Players from seven major regions—Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), North America, Oceania, South America, and Sub-Saharan Africa—can register and compete for real cash prizes. The prize pool will be split across regions, with allocations based on player participation and regional size.

What sets these cups apart is their diversity in game modes. While Rocket League is traditionally known for its 3v3 format, the Cash Cups will rotate through multiple styles, including:
- 1v1 (Solo)
- 2v2 (Duos)
- 3v3 (Standard)
- 3v3 Rumble (Power-up mode)
- 2v2 Hoops (Basketball-inspired mode)
This variety allows players with different preferences and skills to shine, from solo duels to chaotic power-up matches. For each event, the tournament format follows a double-elimination bracket, and teams are seeded based on their average rank when registration closes, ensuring fair and balanced matchmaking.
Players must register through Start.gg, where they are limited to competing in one region’s Cash Cup per month. Participation is open across all platforms—PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch—so long as the player’s Epic Games account is properly linked.
The 2025 schedule is already in full swing, with the first 1v1 tournament beginning April 22nd (April 21st for MENA). Subsequent tournaments will continue at the end of each month, alternating between game modes. The final event, a 3v3 tournament, wraps up the series in December.

This initiative comes at a time when Rocket League esports is experiencing both growth and change. Following the recent RLCS Major in Birmingham, where Karmine Corp took home the trophy, attention now turns to the second Major in June at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, with a prize pool of $351,000.
The Monthly Cash Cups are a continuation of the momentum built by successful 2024 community tournaments like the Offseason Opens and Champion’s Road. With regular, accessible tournaments and real incentives, Rocket League is providing a meaningful way for players around the world to engage with the competitive scene—whether they’re seasoned pros or ambitious newcomers.
