Riot Games has revealed the opening matchups for VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 following Fnatic’s EMEA victory. Here’s everything you need to know about the Swiss Stage and what to expect from each matchup.
Riot Games has officially revealed the first-round matchups for the VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 Swiss Stage, which kicks off on June 8. The draw was held shortly after Fnatic claimed a dominant 3-0 victory over Team Heretics in the VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 1 Finals, securing their spot in the upcoming Masters Playoffs.
The Swiss Stage will feature eight qualified teams from the Pacific, Americas, EMEA, and China regions, battling for a spot in the final playoff bracket. These teams will compete in a format where Round 2 and subsequent matchups are determined by Round 1 results, with teams holding the same record facing each other.
VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 – Swiss Stage Round 1 Matchups:
- June 8: Gen.G Esports (Pacific #2) vs. MIBR (Americas #3)
- June 8: Bilibili Gaming (China #2) vs. Team Liquid (EMEA #3)
- June 9: Sentinels (Americas #2) vs. Wolves Esports (China #3)
- June 9: Team Heretics (EMEA #2) vs. Paper Rex (Pacific #3)

Let’s take a closer look at what to expect from each showdown:
Gen.G Esports vs. MIBR
This matchup is arguably the most unpredictable. MIBR, led by star duelist Erick “aspas” Santos, has bounced back strongly after a shaky start to the season. However, they face a steep challenge against Gen.G, the reigning VALORANT Masters Shanghai champions, who are returning to international play after missing the Masters Bangkok event. Gen.G will be looking to reassert their dominance with a statement win.
Bilibili Gaming vs. Team Liquid
While Team Liquid may look like the favorites on paper, Bilibili Gaming has already proven their strength by taking down world champions EDward Gaming during the China Stage 1 playoffs. Team Liquid, meanwhile, had a mixed performance, qualifying for the Masters Bangkok but finishing at the bottom of the table. This clash could turn out to be a surprise upset in the making.
Sentinels vs. Wolves Esports
Sentinels head into this match as heavy favorites. The Madrid Masters champions had a solid run in VCT Americas Stage 1, only falling to powerhouse G2 Esports. Wolves Esports, despite their underdog story in the Chinese scene, have faltered lately, missing the Esports World Cup 2025 after a loss to Titan Esports. Unless Wolves find their earlier form, Sentinels should have a relatively smooth ride.
Team Heretics vs. Paper Rex
Team Heretics showed exceptional form during the EMEA group stages and playoffs but were humbled twice by Fnatic with convincing losses. Paper Rex, on the other hand, barely clinched their spot in Toronto but impressed by eliminating the Masters Bangkok winners T1 in the Pacific League. This series could swing either way, depending on which version of Heretics shows up.
The top four teams from the Swiss Stage will join Fnatic, G2 Esports, XLG Esports, and RRQ in the VALORANT Masters Toronto Playoffs. With fierce matchups from the get-go, this year’s Masters promises high-stakes action and potential upsets.
Stay tuned as we follow the road to the Playoffs, and keep it locked to official Riot broadcasts and Siege.gg for the latest VALORANT coverage.
