Here’s everything you need to know.

The World Series of Warzone (WSOW) is officially returning in 2025, bringing with it a $1 million (~£741,000) prize pool and a thrilling competitive structure designed to showcase the best Warzone trios from around the globe. This year, the tournament returns to its roots on the iconic Verdansk map, which was reintroduced to the game last month and has already reignited excitement across the Warzone community.

The action kicks off on June 20th with the In-Game Open qualifiers for North America and the EMEA regions (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), running through June 22nd. Players will have the chance to submit their best 10 match scores, with the top 100 trios from each region advancing to the Group Play Gauntlet.

From July 7th to July 16th, these qualified teams will be split into four groups, facing off in five-drop matchups against the other groups. The top 25 trios will move forward to the Qualifier Finals on July 17th, while the bottom 10 teams will be eliminated. Teams ranking in between will have one more shot at glory in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) set for August.

Outside of NA and EMEA, other global regions will follow a slightly different qualification path. Teams from APAC, LATAM North, and LATAM South will participate in online Private Match Competitions to determine regional representation—one team for APAC, three for LATAM South, and four for LATAM North. These regional battles will culminate in the Regional Finals, where 15 teams from each territory will secure their spots for the Global Final. Additionally, five teams and one wildcard from the LCQ will round out the championship lineup.

While the full details for the Global Final event have yet to be revealed, last year’s championship, held in Las Vegas, featured the world’s top 34 trios and a prize pool of $950,000. Its reintroduction has already fueled massive interest, with Twitch Rivals’ April 4th tournament on the map hitting a peak viewership of 163,013, according to Esports Charts. A follow-up event, Trials of Verdansk, saw over 120 content creators compete, further building hype for the competitive season.

Interestingly, while Verdansk will be featured in WSOW, it won’t be part of the Warzone event at this summer’s Esports World Cup, which will instead use the Resurgence mode, a format previously favored in past editions.

With intense competition, a hefty prize pool, and the beloved Verdansk map at the center, WSOW 2025 is shaping up to be one of the biggest Call of Duty esports events of the year.
