North American esports powerhouse Sentinels is exploring expansion into Counter-Strike and League of Legends, following a year of explosive growth and strategic partnerships. Here’s what CEO Rob Moore revealed about their ambitious future.

In a bold move to diversify its presence in global esports, Sentinels is considering entering both Counter-Strike and League of Legends in the near future. The organization’s CEO, Rob Moore, confirmed the news in an interview with Sheep Esports, outlining a vision of long-term expansion and sustainable business growth.

Founded in 2016, Sentinels has grown into one of the most recognizable names in North American esports, primarily through its dominant presence in VALORANT. The organization secured two international VALORANT titles: Masters Reykjavík 2021 and Masters Madrid 2024, cementing its reputation as a competitive force. Alongside VALORANT, Sentinels also fields rosters in Marvel Rivals, Apex Legends, and StarCraft II, showcasing its versatility across genres.

Now, Sentinels has set its sights on two of esports’ most iconic and competitive arenas. First, Counter-Strike, where Moore hinted at an entry in 2026 or 2027, driven by a desire to reignite North American representation in a scene currently dominated by European and international squads. Following a disappointing BLAST.tv Austin Major, in which Team Liquid’s top-16 finish was the best for the region, the arrival of a high-profile org like Sentinels could inject much-needed momentum and visibility into North America’s Counter-Strike landscape.

In parallel, Sentinels is exploring opportunities in League of Legends, specifically through the Guest Slot system in the League of Legends Championship of the Americas (LTA). This system could allow new entrants to prove themselves and potentially qualify for the continent’s premier league, giving Sentinels a pathway into Riot’s long-running MOBA without needing to acquire a permanent slot outright.

These expansion plans come on the heels of a remarkable year for the organization. According to Sheep Esports, Sentinels nearly doubled its revenue in 2024, from $2.9 million to $5.7 million, thanks to increased viewership, stronger merchandise sales, and brand partnerships with major companies like Razer and Red Bull.

Reflecting on this growth, Moore noted a philosophical shift within the organization: “During five years, nobody told us to build a sustainable business. Today, it has become our priority. And so much the better.” This aligns with a broader trend across the esports industry in 2025, where sustainability and financial stability are taking center stage as organizations seek to weather turbulent market conditions and long-term operational challenges.

If successful, Sentinels’ expansion into Counter-Strike and League of Legends could mark a new chapter for the brand, one that elevates its profile from a regional powerhouse in VALORANT to a multi-title global contender. With a strong financial footing, a growing fanbase, and strategic foresight, Sentinels looks poised to continue its ascent in the evolving esports ecosystem.
